So, not only has my job provided me with a shiny new Blackberry, but they're also sending me a Sony e-Reader. Before any of you start sounding the death knell for the printed book, here's why it's a good thing for me (and my colleagues) to have an e-book reader: At the start of every selling season I get a stack of reading notebooks and manuscripts that are literally two feet high.
By sending us these materials electronically, my company will be cutting down on paper, printing costs, shipping and all of the CO2 effects associated! I will still love nothing more than curling up with a good book, but I'll be doing most of my work reading electronically.
Lastly, I finally broke down and bought myself a GPS. With all the driving I do for work, it's really a necessity and will save me from having to print out GoogleMaps directions every time I leave the house!
I'm drowning in technology! (and I love it!)
